I am writing to inform you that, following the AFIL committee meeting of 28th February 2018, the committee has agreed that a fresh appeal should be made regarding the annual membership fee for all AFIL members. Collection of the membership fee has been somewhat irregular in recent years despite the funds concerned being badly needed by our association. It is intended that the fee of € 5 will be used to pay the association’s existing administrative costs (these include bank charges of € 54.46 and an annual insurance fee of € 340.20) and to help fund future events and initiatives. Beginning with the AFIL event in Johnny’s Kitchen for the Ireland-France 6 Nations match on Sunday 10th March, all future AFIL events will be membership-only events. This will include established AFIL events such as the Christmas party, Céilí, and the “meal deals” offered by either Johnny’s Kitchen or Accasbel for Irish sporting events shown in these venues. Membership will also be required for participation in the Cíorcal Cómhra which will now be held on a monthly basis.
Membership can be paid either in cash at an AFIL event or via the PayPal link below. Membership cards will be issued immediately if the fee is paid at an AFIL event or left for collection in Johnny’s Kitchen if paid via the “GoFundMe” page. No membership fees will be required for anyone under the age of 18. Please also note that the membership fee is included in the registration fees for players of Lugdunum CLG.
We hope you understand that this fee is necessary to cover the administrative costs required to run an association such as AFIL. We consider it to be a small contribution that will significantly help the association to develop and expand its activities for its members.
Thank you for your continuing support and we hope to see you next weekend to cheer on our Gaelic footballers at Parc de Parilly on Saturday and in Accasbel on Sunday for the rugby!
